P & A Organic Meats

The owner wanted to freshen up his shop.  As the walls were tiled in black and white to within 80 cm of the ceiling, the most cost effective change was to create a frieze above the tiling.  He wanted a balance between strong design, and realism, and an image that reflected his organic, chemical free product.  Given the height of the frieze, and the hours of the business, the frieze was painted onto boards, then installed and a rich plum background was painted around them. Each panel had its own theme, floating blue and white bowls were used to link the panels together.

Coopers Brewery, Adelaide

To create a lively Pub scene as a backdrop for a temporary bar, in Coopers red, and black, grey, white and silver.

Eighty six full and part portraits were included to build up a crowded bar and live music scene. The painted bar staff had to wear uniforms to match those of the real bar staff. Small details included the Coopers logo on all the glasses, and a falling bottle top and the overloaded container – typical of a lively Friday night.

Gourmet Deli – Invitation to Lunch 4.8m x 1.5m

To create a realistic and inviting display of gourmet food on sale.

To set an outdoor picnic table, looking out over Piccadilly Valley vines in Autumn. The need to show a wide range of food and food colours presented an interesting challenge in developing the colour plan and composition for the mural. Our solution was to create a series of still life paintings – linked to the background, and each other, and allow one, the cheese platters, to dominate. See the individual close up shots.
The diamond shaped table cloths were included to lead people into the painting.
